Updates and discussion on SGR 1935+2154 led by Kiyoshi Masui and Herman Marshall
David Barnes will be presenting work that builds on this paper: D.J. Barnes et al, Characterizing hydrostatic mass bias with Mock-XAbstract:
I will discuss how we can use to numerical simulations to prepare for the challenge of precision cosmology with galaxy cluster surveys, such as eRosita and SPT-3G. The basic requirement for a fair comparison to observational data are synthetic images, such as those produced by the MOCK-X framework outlined in the above paper. I will briefly present highlights from various papers we have in preparation like: the bias and scatter of cluster mass estimates, the impact of selecting a cluster centre on mass estimates, the impact of baryonic physics on mass-observable relations and the consistency of selecting relaxed cluster subsets.
