MKI will hold a “Meet and Greet” next Friday, September 9 at 12noon instead of a regular Friday Journal Club lunch meeting.  Please note that the location for this lunch meeting is NOT Marlar Lounge, but RLE conference room 36-428.  Lunch will be provided.

Here is the format for our “Meet and Greet”.  Each attendee will have one minute to introduce themselves, preferably using one PowerPoint slide.  Your PowerPoint slide should include basic information (name, email, etc.) and a blurb and/or image of your research interests.

Here’s the important part — please save your slide as a PDF and email to MKI grad student Keaton Burns (kjburns@mit.edu) no later than 12noon next Thursday, September 8.  Don’t worry — if you don’t submit a PowerPoint slide to Keaton, you will still have an opportunity to stand at the lunch to give your one minute introduction.

Please note:  due to Marlar Lounge renovations, regular Journal Club meetings will not resume until early October.  Stay tuned for announcements.  We will hold our Tuesday afternoon astrophysics colloquia in the RLE conference room 36-428 for the month of September, and possibly early October.  As soon as Marlar is back up and running, colloquia, Journal Club, and brown bag lunch talks will again be scheduled in Marlar.
