Abstract:
Multilayer mirrors provide a unique opportunity of developing high efficient hard X-ray telescopes as well as soft X-ray polarimeters. Though the technology of fabricating multilayer mirrors is well established, several new fabrication and characterization techniques are being developed to suit them for various astronomical applications. In the talk, I will discuss regarding the fabrication and various characterization techniques of multilayer mirrors. I will also present a simple design of multilayer mirror based soft X-ray polarimeter operational under 1 keV.
