Abstract
I will be presenting primarily on the observational section of my thesis, “A failure to measure galaxy-galaxy flexion in Abell 1689, and the role of shape noise at z ~1”. I will briefly overview weak lensing flexion and my initial goal of using it to measure galaxy halo truncation in Abell 1689. I will then give a detailed account of the steps I took to measure galaxy-galaxy lensing flexion, the areas in which I succeeded, those in which I failed, and how one might successfully make this measurement in the future with deeper, redder, and perhaps space-based observations.
