The Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT) project is an international collaboration focused around the construction of a 25.4 meter optical/IR telescope at Las Campanas, Chile.  The President and Director of GMTO will speak about the science case, technical design and progress of the telescope, which is nearing its construction phase.
