Junxin Chen is a postdoctoral associate at LIGO MIT. Before starting at MIT, he got his PhD’s degree at Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen on the topic of quantum optomechanics.
Junxin’s expertise is in interferometric sensing of mechanical motion, the measurement technology used in gravitational wave detectors like LIGO. In addition to developing technologies to enhance the performance of gravitational wave detectors, Junxin is also seeking for the opportunity of utilizing mechanical systems to probe some of the biggest questions in modern physics, such as the composition of dark matter, the quantum nature of gravity, and the transition from quantum mechanics to classical mechanics with the growing system size.
