Dr. Ioanna Psaradaki specializes in high-energy astrophysics with expertise in high-resolution X-ray spectroscopy. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in physics from the University of Crete in Greece and earned her Ph.D. in astrophysics from SRON, the Netherlands Institute of Space Research, in collaboration with the University of Amsterdam. Her research focuses on Dust X-Ray Absorption/Scattering Fine Structure (XAFS/XSFS) studies and photoionization modeling. Dr. Psaradaki has conducted laboratory experiments on interstellar dust, contributing significantly to the development of the most current X-ray dust extinction model. In November 2022, she became a NASA participating Guest Scientist (XGS) and joined the Science Team of the new X-ray imaging and spectroscopic mission, XRISM.
