Jim, primarily an embedded systems software developer, returned to MIT after a 14-year walk-about exploring the world of fiber optics start-ups (Lightchip), small manned spaceflight experiments (Payload Systems/Aurora Flight Sciences), and unmanned aerial vehicles (Aurora Flight Sciences). Prior to these excursions, Jim worked at MIT in the 1990’s, working instrument flight software for RXTE, Chandra/ACIS and HETE-2.
